Doctor Intrepid is a resourceful archaeologist whose pursuit of the ancient world has an inconvenient habit of leading straight into the supernatural. From forgotten gods and buried civilizations to curses, monsters and mysteries that are better left unexplained, Intrepid approaches the impossible with a scholar’s curiosity, an adventurer’s nerve—and very little patience for anyone who gets in her way.
Elegant, sharp-witted and formidable, she moves through exotic ruins, museums, drawing rooms and dangerous back alleys with equal confidence. Intrepid may begin an investigation looking for history, but history in her world is rarely dead. Ancient legends have teeth, old gods cast long shadows, and sometimes the thing dismissed as myth is waiting just around the corner.
